Reading Is Fundamental (RIF)
RIF is a federally funded family literacy program designed to encourage and engage students and parents in motivational reading activities. Through the program last year, approximately 23,000 free books were distributed to 9,000 kids up to 12 years old.
CIS local sites with RIF programs include: Albany/Doughterty, Burke, Catoosa, Colquitt, Coweta, Dodge, Fitzgerald/Ben Hill, Hart, Jenkins, Laurens, Marietta/Cobb, Rome/Floyd, Valdosta/Lowndes, and Wilkes.
