Today we are celebrating a wonderful day for our children to learn financial literacy.

Thanks to organizations like Communities In Schools of Georgia in Dooly County, and so many other CIS of Georgia sites, along with nurturing strong partnerships with school staff, CIS gives kids a dose of reality.

Reality U helps youth acquire personal financial literacy to prepare them for their lives as adults – all packed into a highly interactive 75-minute simulation of life!

Today we are celebrating a wonderful day for our children to learn literacy. We have wonderful participation from Dooly County volunteers, current and retired educators, and I hope the children achieve a great sense of reality knowing that you have to work and save in order to have something in life.
—Dooly County Communities in Schools Site Coordinator, Earl Clark Jr.

Dooly County High School Junior, Shanilah Davis, is an aspiring labor and delivery nurse. She would like to attend Kennesaw State University after graduation. When asked how she found this event beneficial she said:

I feel like it will help me in the real world because I know how much my student loans will be when I go to college, and how to prepare if I want to have children. It also showed a glimpse of how I can take care of my kids while working.

The scholars were extremely engaged throughout the entire event. Everyone that participated made it a huge success!
