Communities In Schools (CIS) of Georgia is a College Access Challenge Grant partner and the program provides collaborative opportunities to increase the number of high school students who enter college, particularly teens
who would be the first generation to attend. During a recent conference, partners convened to share insights, best practices and learn leading-edge ways to encourage and support disadvantaged youth to attend and graduate from a post-secondary institution.Through College Access, CIS of Georgia provides training conferences to local affiliates to increase community and parent engagement and the success of college readiness outreach activities. The grant also allows CIS of Georgia to provide affiliates with pass through funding for campus tours and scholarship information to more than 400 students in grades 6-12 throughout the school year.
