Arely, student from South Cobb High School

These past four years of high school were a self-discovery journey…

As I entered my freshman year I was a naive kid who had no expectations other than graduating and getting a good GPA. Mental health was not my priority since I have always been a cheerful person. So with that being said, I never expected to have a hard time.

But as years went by I slowly started to lose motivation, as I would constantly compare my achievements with my peers. Everything I accomplished I was never proud of because I always viewed my achievements as mediocre. I was endlessly hard on myself trying to get all As, a good GPA, staying up late at night studying to get a score. But when I achieved all that I was never truly happy. So then I had the epiphany to not stress as much and just believe in myself.

In my senior year I applied to six colleges and got accepted to all six! But what Iā€™m most proud of is getting accepted to the University of San Francisco with a scholarship.

As a final decision, I plan to attend Georgia State University. Iā€™m so happy I made it this far.
